We have read being main character being overpowered but they themselves don’t know that in anime like I Parry Everything and in manhua like I’m Actually a Cultivation Bigshot. Similarly, Let This Grieving Soul Retire has an interesting premise that the main character is weak, he knows it, but other people think he is overpowered… not strong.

Let This Grieving Soul Retire Volume 1 was a fun read. It was so light read I finished within a week. The characters were interesting as well as the plot was so ridiculous that it was fun. The misunderstandings were balanced.

That’s why I read Volume 2 to Volume 7. The plot was good and interesting, but still some elements felt forced. I won’t go in detail about them, but after reading them, I could feel that misunderstandings which is the main element of the story felt so forced that it almost ruined the immersion.

Still because of how the light the story was I kept on reading. I finally reached Volume 7 and after Volume 7, there was no official-translated light novel, so I started reading Web novel version on Foxaholic.

There wasn’t much of a difference, that’s why Arc 8 and Arc 9 were easy read. Now, I was very impressed by Arc 9. It was I would say the most hilarious arc among all 9 arcs. Everything just felt right while reading the chapters. Nothing seemed forced. The twists and turns were hilarious as well. I love how the author has kept the character and personality of the main character so constant.

Overall, Let This Grieving Soul Retire is a great read. If you are looking for something light and fun read with misunderstandings, I would highly recommend this novel.
