I wanted to read a novel in which the main character has the ability to bend time.
I’ve always been fascinated by the concept of time manipulation ever since I saw the Flash and other anime and movies in which the protagonist goes back in time to change the future.

The Perfect Run Web Novel Information

Name: A Perfect Run
Status: Volume 1 (Ongoing)
Author: Maxime J. Durand
Where to read: RoyalRoad | Amazon
Summary:
The Story follows Ryan “Quicksave” Romano who is an eccentric adventurer with a strange power: he can create a save-point in time and redo his life whenever he dies. The story starts as he arrives in New Rome. We follow Ryan as he tries to achieve his goals in that chaotic city ripped apart by mega-corporations, sponsored heroes, superpowered criminals, and true monsters.
Writing Quality and Grammar: Good
Throughout the novel, the author does a wonderful job of maintaining the quality of his writing and plot.
World Development: Good
The world is set in a turbulent world where there is no law and order and chaos runs deep. As long as they consume the elixir, everyone can get superpowers. The emergence of superpowers threw existing social and political orders into disarray and sparked global warfare, resulting in tremendous death and destruction.
What I liked about this story is that the author doesn’t just dump all the knowledge on us at once; instead, he gradually discloses it to us. Through Ryan’s experiences and the dialogues, we learn about the world and its new state.
Character Development: Good
Without diving deep into the story, we can comprehend the personality of Ryan and why he has that kind of personality and that does feel rational too.
Ryan is eccentric, wacky, cheerful, flamboyant, and treats everything as if it were a video game. He does that because of the nature of his power- Save and Reload.
Other side characters are fleshed out as well. We do see different sides of them in each new loop.
Power System: Good
The author spends his time delving into the many mechanics of the power derived from the elixirs. The Power System is well-defined, and it appears to be rational and sensible.
Conclusion: A Good Story
In conclusion, this is a nice story to read. There’s a lot of humor in this story. The author maintains a sense of mystery throughout the novel, and we discover something new in each loop. As a result, I didn’t feel the plot dragged and enjoyed the pace.
One place I felt it lagged was when Ryan achieved one of his objectives. That part for me was a place where the story loses its charm and felt boring and there are some other places where I felt that.
But Overall this is a good story to read.
This web novel is for you if you enjoy a comical fantasy story set in a chaotic world with a joyful and eccentric main character with time-related abilities.
